The SAFSA Executive released a statement today regarding the cancellation of the 2020 SA Figure Skating National Championships.
This decision was made via a unanimous vote by all council members around the country. The current season has now officially ended and the new season will begin on 1 July 2020.
There will be no changes to the age limits for sections, with the possible exception of Novice and Junior Synchro (as per ISU). All other categories will move up as planned.
Western Province will be discussing options within our province as well as with the National Executive and Council as to the recognition for skater who achieved qualification during the current season, but have been denied the opportunity to represent their province due to the lockdown. We will keep everyone updated on the progress of this.
For the official SAFSA notice, please see the SAFSA website – safsa.org.za
There will be more information to follow, but many of the decisions will only be made at the upcoming SAFSA Council Meeting in June. Again, these will be posted here as soon as they become available.
