Please see correspondence received from the Chairperson of Gauteng North (OC for GIP 2020) pertaining to Ice Dance:

NOTE: Ice dance WILL NOT take place at GIP 2020.

Dear Provinces,

We would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and all the best for the coming year.

Due to a misunderstanding regarding ice dance, we will unfortunately have to withdraw ice dance from GIP.

For all skaters who have registered, please inform your skaters that we are unable to host ice dance and that their fees should be refunded.

Solo, synchro and pairs will be part of the GIP as normal.

As a reminder, please note that the closing date for registration is Saturday 4.01.2020.

We hope that this is a temporary set back for ice dance and are sure that ice dance will continue to grow in South Africa as a discipline and will be available at inter-provincial and national level by next year.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards

Anne Waldek-Thill – CHAIRPERSON – SAFSA (GN)
