IN GOOD STANDING

"In good standing" refers to the status of a member who fully complies with the rules, regulations and obligations set forth by SAFSA HQ and SAFSA WP hereafter referred to as the federation. The status signifies that the member has met all the necessary criteria to maintain active membership and is entitled to participate in the federation's activities, competitions and governance.

KEY CRITERIA FOR MAINTAINING GOOD STANDING

To remain in good standing, a member must adhere to the following requirements:

1. Payment of Fees and Dues

Members must ensure that all membership fees, dues or any other financial obligations to the federation are paid in full and on time within seven (7) days of receiving notification of monies owing whether by way of invoice or email

  • Should a member fail to make payment of monies due to SAFSA WP they will receive one (1) months warning/reminder
  • If after two (2) months payment has not been made, the skater will not be allowed to skate on any SAFSA WP patch
  • If after three (3) months the fees are not paid the SAFSA WP membership will be suspended until such time all monies owing have been paid

2. Compliance with Rules and Policies

Members are expected to abide by the federation's constitution, bylaws and code of conduct. This includes ethical behaviour and adherence to anti-doping regulations, competition rules and other policies.

3. Participation Obligations

Members may be required to actively participate in federation activities, such as attending meetings, competing in scheduled events, or fulfilling roles and responsibilities assigned by the federation.

4. No Disciplinary Actions

Members must not be under suspension, probation, or any other disciplinary action imposed by the federation for violations of rules or misconduct.

BENEFITS OF BEING IN GOOD STANDING

Members in good standing are entitled to the following privileges:

  1. Eligibility to participate in official competitions, events and programmes organised or sanctioned by the federation.
  2. Voting rights at federation meetings.
  3. Access to members exclusive resources, training and development programmes.
  4. Representation and support from the federation in disputes or matters related to the sport.
  5. Use of SAFSA WP patch sessions

LOSS OF GOOD STANDING

A member may lose their status of good standing due to the following:

  1. Failure to meet financial obligations
  2. Violation of federation rules, policies or codes of conduct.
  3. Engaging in behaviour that harms the reputation or interests of the federation or the sport.
  4. Being subject to disciplinary actions such as suspension or expulsion.

To remain in good standing, members must fulfil all outstanding obligations, rectify the violations or complete the terms of any disciplinary actions as determined by the federation.

This policy may be reviewed, amended and/or updated by the SAFSA WP Committee to align with the SAFSA National regulations and requirements.
