2. GENERAL REGULATIONS

The Cape Future Stars Figure Skating Competition 2025 will be conducted in accordance with the latest SAFSA regulations.

3. ELIGIBILITY

Participation in the Cape Future Stars Figure Skating Competition 2025 is open to all Competitors who belong to the South African Figure Skating Association (SAFSA) and are currently members in good standing.

All competitors must be entered online through the portal and payment must be made to their respective provincial body.

Competitive Stream

• Singles: Bronze
• Pairs: Bronze

5. AGE REQUIREMENTS

The final age categories will be confirmed once all entries have been received.

6. ENTRIES

Entries Open:

Saturday, 13 September 2025 and must be made using the online portal available. Incomplete entries will be considered invalid and will be voided.

Entries Close:

Sunday, 21 September 2025. No late entries will be accepted.

Refund Policy:

Refunds will not be issued for withdrawals for any reason unless the event is cancelled.

Cost of Entry:

R 950.00 for singles and pairs.

All payments are to be done via EFT to your province's bank account. The provincial body is to make an EFT by 26 September 2025 for the entry fees. Failure to pay the entry fees in full by Friday, 26 September 2025, may result in removal from the competition.

Provincial Payment:

One single bulk provincial entry fee is to be paid into the account below and Proof of Payment (POP) submitted to our Treasurer by no later than Friday, 26 September 2025.

7. DRAW

The opening draw for the order of skating will be held privately via a computerised draw, prior to arrival.

9. SPUR BREAKFAST

The official registration point will be at the entrance to the Ice Station on Sunday, 19 October 2025 from 05h00-06h30.

The SAFSA Western Province Committee invite all competitors to the Silver Dollar Spur, GrandWest on Sunday, 19 October 2025 for Breakfast. Your Spur voucher will be included in your goodie bag.

10. OFFICIAL PRACTICE

Official practice for Competitors will be on Sunday 19th October 2025: 05h00-06h30. A detailed schedule will be communicated after entries close.

11. MUSIC

The skater's coach is responsible for submitting their competitor's music via the online coaches' portal. The link will be sent directly to the SAFSA registered coaches.

The final time for submission of music on this portal is Sunday, 21 September 2025.

Each submission must be labelled with the name of the category, and the name of the competitor.

The music files must be sent as MP3 file format. Any other format is unfortunately not acceptable.

Each Competitor must have their own back-up drive (USB Stick) for each programme in the format of a MP3 file.

12. PLANNED PROGRAMME CONTENT (PPC)

The skater's coach is responsible for submitting their skater's planned programme content as a submission on the coaches' portal. The link will be sent directly to the SAFSA registered coaches.

The deadline for submission of the PPC on this portal is Sunday, 21 September 2025.

The planned programme content is to be completed using the terminology for the elements listed in the respective ISU format.

13. AWARDS

Medals will be awarded to the first three places in each event and will be presented at our prizegiving.

Certificates of participation will be presented to each competitor after the event.

14. SPECTATORS

Spectators are welcome to attend the event. Tickets will be on sale via Quicket.

• Adults: R65.00 per day
• Pensioners: R50.00 per day
• U12: R35.00 per day

15. PHOTOGRAPHY

There will be two official photographers attending the event and photographs will be available to purchase directly from the respective photographers.

Each skater will receive one Kiss & Cry photo, cost of which has been included in the entry fee.

16. GIFTS

Gifts may be thrown onto the ice only after a skater has completed their performance. All gifts must be securely wrapped. No loose sweets, chocolates or items that can break open and scatter on the ice are allowed for safety and cleanliness reasons.

A "tossie table" will be available at the venue for the duration of the competition.

17. LIABILITY

In accordance with ISU Regulations, Rule 119, it is the sole responsibility of each competitor participating in the Cape Future Stars Figure Skating Competition 2025 to provide medical and accident insurance.

The Organising Committee assumes no responsibility for liability with respect to bodily or personal injury or property damage incurred in connection by the skaters, officials or any other participating persons.

All entrants, their parents and guardians and officials agree to assume all risks of injury or illness to their person and property resulting from, caused by or connected with the conduct and management of the competition and to waive and release all claims that they may have against any officials, SAFSA, the Ice Station and its volunteers and staff.

The organiser will provide medical emergency aid during the competition

Organisers of the Cape Future Stars Figure Skating Competition 2025 are committed to the proper protection of personal data in accordance with the POPI act

THE SAFSA STAKEHOLDER'S CONSENT IN TERMS OF THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION ACT NO 4 OF 2013

1. I hereby give consent that the South African Figure Skating Association Western Province may collect, use, distribute, process, and communicate my personal information, photographs, and videos for all SAFSA activities including, but not limited to, the Cape Future Stars Figure Skating Competition 2025 being held 19 October 2025 and other related communication, promotional, media and marketing activities.
2. I also consent that SAFSA may share my personal information with third parties rendering database management services on behalf of the Federation.
3. I will not hold the SAFSA responsible for any improper or unauthorized use of my personal information that is beyond the reasonable control of the SAFSA.
4. I agree to and provide my consent for sharing, storage and processing of my personal data in the manner mentioned above. To be placed on announcement, entry forms and at the entrance for public spectators.

Spectators Disclaimer

1. I hereby give consent that the organisers of the Cape Future Stars Figure Skating Competition 2025 being held 19 October 2025 that as a spectator photographs, videos and live streaming will be done during the competition to promote figure skating as a sport.
2. This promotional material may be shared with a third party as the organisers, the SAFSA, skaters and family members who may post these images on and publish them on various social media platforms.
3. I have been made aware at entering the venue that there may be a possibility that as a spectator, I may be seen in the background of the photographs, videos and live streaming and I have the right to leave the venue should this make me uncomfortable.
4. I agree that by entering the venue as a spectator, I give my permission to be seen in the background of photos, videos and live streaming on any of the above-mentioned social media platforms.
5. I will not hold the SAFSA WP responsible for any improper or unauthorised use of my personal information that is beyond the reasonable control of the SAFSA WP.
