On behalf of the Western Province Figure Skating Association, it gives me great pleasure to extend a heartfelt welcome to each and everyone of you to the Cape Inter-Provincial Championships 2025, hosted right here at the Ice Station in beautiful Cape Town.
This championship is a celebration of more than just medals and marks – it is a celebration of passion, perseverance, progress and community. Whether you are stepping onto the ice to compete, sitting on the judges panel, working tirelessly behind the scenes or cheering proudly from the stands – you are an essential part of what makes this sport so inspiring.
To our visiting provinces, thank-you for making the journey here. Your presence brings with it a spirit of unity and a shared love of the sport that reminds us of the national community we are privileged to be a part of.
To our skaters – may this weekend reflect all the dedication and hours of hard work, training and artistry that you have poured into your training. Skate boldly, proudly and with joy.
To our parents, officials and volunteers – thank you for the incredible support system you provide to our skaters and our sport. These moments are only possible because of you.

The Cape Inter-Provincial Figure Skating Championships 2025 will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2025, the ISU Special Regulations and Technical Rules for Single and Pair Skating, Ice Dance and Solo Dance 2025 and the relevant ISU Communications.
Participation in the Cape Inter-Provincial Figure Skating Championships 2025 is open to all Competitors who belong to the South African Figure Skating Association (SAFSA) and are currently members in good standing.
All competitors must be entered online through the portal and payment must be made to their respective provincial body.
The marking system (ISU judging system) will be used in accordance with the latest ISU Communication.
The competition will be conducted in accordance with the latest SAFSA regulations.

This is a qualifying competition for both the Championship and Competitive streams towards the SA National Championships 2026 and the Final 2026 respectively.

Saturday, 30 August 2025 and must be made using the online portal. Incomplete entries will be considered invalid and will be voided.
Sunday, 21 September 2025. No late entries will be accepted.
Refunds will not be issued for withdrawals for any reason unless the event is cancelled.
All payments are to be done via EFT to your province's bank account. The provincial body is to make an EFT by 26 September 2025 for the entry fees. Failure to pay the entry fees in full by Friday, 26 September 2025, may result in removal from the competition.

The opening draw for the order of skating will be held privately via a computerised draw, prior to arrival.
The starting order for the Free Skate will be in reverse order of the short/pattern/rhythm dance results.
The official accreditation and registration point will be in the Function Room at the Ice Station on Sunday, 19 October 2025 from 3:30 to 4:30pm. Accreditation will be given to all Competitors, Coaches, Judges and Officials.
The SAFSA Western Province Committee invite all competitors to the Silver Dollar Spur, GrandWest on Sunday, 19 October 2025 at 5:00pm for dinner. Your Spur voucher will be included in your goodie bag.
Unofficial practice for Competitors begins on Friday, 17 October 2025. Please contact the Skate Shop directly.
Cost is R75.00 per skater and is payable directly to The Ice Station.

All participants are responsible for their own hotel reservations. When making your reservation please quote "SAFSA – CIP 2025" to take advantage of the discounted rate that SAFSA WP has negotiated on behalf of all competitors.
Changing rooms are available to the synchronised teams only at this competition.
The skater's coach is responsible for submitting their competitor's music via the online coaches' portal: https://forms.gle/mVvqoduW9y9dqGoL6
The final time for submission of music on this portal is Sunday, 21 September 2025.
Each submission must be labelled with the name of the category, whether short programme, rhythm dance (SP/RD) or free programme/free dance (FP/FD) and the name of the competitor.

The music files must be sent as MP3 file format. Any other format is unfortunately not acceptable.
Each Competitor must have their own back-up drive (USB Stick) for each programme in the format of a MP3 file.

The deadline for submission of the PPC on this portal is Sunday, 21 September 2025.
The planned programme content is to be completed using the terminology for the elements listed in the respective ISU format.
A livestream will be available at this event, and the link will be shared via the respective provincial team leaders.
All results will be calculated using the new ISU judging system.
Please refer to the latest SAFSA Communication for the minimum qualification scores.
Medals will be awarded to the first three places in each event and will be presented on ice at our prizegiving.
Certificates of participation will be presented to each competitor after the event.
Spectators are welcome to attend the event. Tickets will be on sale via Quicket.
There will be two official photographers attending the event and photographs will be available to purchase directly from the respective photographers.
Each skater will receive one Kiss & Cry photo, cost of which has been included in the entry fee.
Gifts may be thrown onto the ice only after a skater has completed their performance. All gifts must be securely wrapped. No loose sweets, chocolates or items that can break open and scatter on the ice are allowed for safety and cleanliness reasons.
A "tossie table" will be available at the venue for the duration of the competition.
In accordance with ISU Regulations, Rule 119, it is the sole responsibility of each competitor participating in the Cape Inter-Provincial Figure Skating Championships 2025 to provide medical and accident insurance.
The Organising Committee assumes no responsibility for liability with respect to bodily or personal injury or property damage incurred in connection by the skaters, officials or any other participating persons.
All entrants, their parents and guardians and officials agree to assume all risks of injury or illness to their person and property resulting from, caused by or connected with the conduct and management of the competition and to waive and release all claims that they may have against any officials, SAFSA, the Ice Station and its volunteers and staff.
The organiser will provide medical emergency aid during the competition.

The daily starting times are fixed. Following the morning start, the time schedule of the event is flexible, which means that in the case of withdrawals, certain categories may start earlier than reflected.
